Learn to improvise
The Spontaneity Shop specialises in the techniques that they have learnt directly from extensive work with Keith Johnstone. The teachers - led by Artistic Directors Deborah Frances-White and Tom Salinsky - have taught and performed for years in the UK and abroad and are the authors of The Improv Handbook, published by Continuum in June 2008. They have developed Johnstone's principles in their own work, so much of what you learn in their classes will be unique to them.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Level 1
beginners class. I was so impressed by the all the
tutors' enthusiasm, commitment and skills of
communication. I learnt lots of tips that have been
helpful in my work at the museum which has been great.
In fact it seems strange to be at home on a Tuesday
rather than feeling stretched out of my comfort zone
and amused and amazed by people's improvisational
talents!
